Child Data & Consent
Almost everyone assessed with AESA is under 18. This page sets out how we treat their data and the role of schools and parents.

Consent
Schools enrol students in AESA and are responsible for obtaining verifiable parental or guardian consent before a student is assessed, consistent with local law and school policy. intelliAssess provides a model consent notice schools may adapt.
Data minimisation
- We ask schools to provide only what is needed to run the assessment and return results — typically name, class and a school-assigned student ID.
- We do not request government identifiers, home addresses, health data or biometric data.
- Assessment responses are used to produce the student's profile and, in de-identified aggregate form, to improve the assessment.
How the data is used
Student data is used solely to deliver the assessment, generate the Student Intelligence Profile and provide reporting to the enrolling school. It is never used for advertising and is never sold.
Access
Profiles are made available to the school, which shares them with the student's parents or guardians. Parents who want to see or correct their child's data should contact the school; we assist the school in responding.
Retention and deletion
Student data is retained only for the period agreed with the school and is then deleted or irreversibly de-identified. A school may request deletion of its students' data at any time.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis, and access is logged.
